Got some extra parts in the flywheel box

So I've done loads and loads of flywheel/trannny/clutch jobs in my life. I got to change the clutch out in my Mustang and figured I'd go with new flywheel and all the extras at the same time, as you do...

But in the McLeod Flywheel box I got these (see pic).

Clutch dowells? There are no blind holes for them, just threaded bolt holes for the cover plate.

Should be holes for them that align up with holes in the pressure plate.

There are some holes but they do not offer a tight enough fit that would keep them in place. I think I'll use some loctite retaining compound and see if they stay in place. Perhaps it was a machining flaw with the holes.

Grabbed this off the internet. I don't know if it is the correct spot for your pins, but that's about what mine looked like, pins pre-installed when I got a new flywheel.

Most common for them to fit way too tight but yes odd time hair on the loose side. Also run into wrong dowels in the box, some use a non stepped version.

When the clutch kit arrives (seems to be delayed (American Muscle)), I'll match the cover plate with the flywheel and figure out where to put them. If they won't stay in place with retaining fluid I'll turn some new ones down.

Interested to see how it plays out.
