Good question. The value for my F150 is 150lbft and the lugs and studs are larger than those on the Mustang.

All of the newer Fords with 14 mm diameter studs have the torque spec at around 150ish.

Somehow someone somewhere decided it takes that much torque to hold wheels on that previously never came loose at 90-100lbs of torque. What they have accomplished, endless number of stripped n buggered wheel nuts.

And why the nuts are chrome capped and not one piece hurts my brain.

Gets ridiculous the number of sockets that end up broken and the time you spend just removing wheels these days.

Even removing lug nuts sometimes get stuck in the socket and that’s just at 100ft/lbs torqued. Never had this issue with my Honda lug nuts. Mind you they torque theirs to 80 ft/lbs.
