Glad that was helpful. I tried quite a few for you and nothing came up or invalid VIN.

The parts department of a Ford dealer that sells / services medium trucks currently (F650-F750) may still have the microfiche cards around from when Ford did heavy trucks up to around 2000. A good old school heavy truck parts guy might be able to come up with the info you're after in those old fiche cards, but it is a PITA for them. When I was at Parkway we had a few guys who had been around from the heavy truck days, and they would cringe at requests like these ... but they have since retired anyway.

Bought the car new off the lot, it was definitely a V8! I know for a fact that around that time, "E" was the 8th VIN digit for a 5.0L car and "A" was the 4 cylinder. It should be recognizing that check digit.

Tried my old Super Coupe VIN as well, it comes up with valid info though.

Ford C802. C800 series but the 2 denotes a 27500 gvwr. Ontario built truck with a 7.0L Gas engine which I believe is the "Lima" 429?

Also why do you want a Firetruck...
