Honestly. I don't know what the hell to do. I've been told by several people, that it's fixable. But the question is, when do I just cut bait and walk away? I do like the car but if it's going to be a money pit that'll never see the road, then it's probably best to wash my hands of it now. The other thing is, I would like to track the car once in a while so any repair would have to be strong enough to stand up to driving on a road course.

Why can't it be fixed? Whats the big deal. You should have seen the floor of my 71 Datsun. No floors or rear frame rails. Had Barney Rubble brakes. Now car looks great.

My Notch was at least as bad. Everything was good except the frame rails. Fixed it, and my father is still driving it today, many years later.

So, I guess what I'm saying is: depends how the rest of the car is, and if you want to go down that path. It's doable.

    The good:
    - The interior is nice
    - Front frame rails look good
    - New brakes (other than the blown line and seized e brake cables) and exhaust
    - New (stock pea shooter) cat back
    - New tires
    - Air suspension works but has a couple minor issues (see below)

    The bad:

    - Paint is bubbling in a couple places, but is still solid
    - Holes in the trunk
    - Weak frame rail
    - Desperately needs a transmission. Nothing really wrong with the AOD... Other than it's an AOD
    - Needs an air dryer and maybe o-rings for the front bags
    - It also has some lifter noise

That said. How did you fix your frame rails?

btw. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like the car. I'm just frustrated by the fact that I'd rather be driving it, not fixing it.
