McGarrett's 1968 Parklane

I was watching the Hawaii Five-O reruns on channel 11 until they ended a few weeks ago.
Several months ago I wondered if that black 1968 Mercury Parklane McGarrett drove on the show from 68-74 still exists.

Turns out it still does after a major restoration by a fan who managed to acquire the car from CBS in 1986.
Cool story with pics of co-star James MacArthur with the car in 2005.
I for one would like to take that black monster for a drive!

My father had a 1964 Mercury Parklane convertible in the 60's.
The only car he mentioned that he wished he never sold.(me too).
I remember it as a young kid,it was dark green with a white top/interior.
