Ever wonder where those damn helicopters end up that fall off the trees?
This was after shampooing the engine and using compressed air.
Shop vac did the trick with pliers and a handful of Q tips.

Injectors weren’t as bad as I thought but still nasty and glad I changed them for peace of mind.
I also sell fuel injectors and was able to utilize my supplier for something other than SBF or LS builds.

Eight fresh Bosch injectors installed on the rails and ready to go.

Cleaned up before the air boxes and engine cover goes back on.

Previous owner did the charcoal filter delete to free up a couple HP and increase the induction noise.

Air boxes, mass air flow sensors and K&N filters cleaned up without using excessive oil.

All buttoned up with a custom AMG engine cover piece ordered from Great Britain.
It cranked over for a couple seconds and fired right up. No leaks or CILs.

Next up is a short test drive and get it on the lift to check underside/exhaust job and fresh oil change.

I managed to get the car on the lift with the front bumper sensors freaking out and reducing power to it.
Car is clean underneath and damage free.
Not really to my surprise I discovered the secondary cats also removed from the car.
This is a common mod for those wanting a couple more HP and even more of that AMG sound while keeping the CIL off with the primary cats still functioning.
Very impressed with the sound deadening and undercarriage panelling on it which obviously helps with the reduced interior noise and no drone from the exhaust.

I’ve read a lot about the exhaust on these cars and apparently adding an X pipe increases power slightly but takes away from from the AMG sound….hence why I think the original owner just straight piped it to keep the stock sound just much louder.
I’m really impressed with the sound of the car both on start up and driving normally. It’s not overly loud and has no drone but man when you get on it or it downshifts in S+ or manual mode the sympathy begins.

Next up was changing the engine oil and differential fluid.
Car received 8.5 litres of Pennzoil Euro 5w40 synthetic and 450ml of Liquid Moly Ceratec.
I searched local parts stores high and low for the OEM Castro 75w140 only to end up buying it from the dealer.
Took a cool pic while at the MB parts desk.

It took awhile but the vinyl wrap is removed from the car.
The chrome underneath is in great condition which is a benefit of wrapping I never thought of before.
The gloss black vinyl will be installed shortly when the car is put on the road.
I’m now thinking of leaving just the door handles and the front grill star chrome to compliment the rims.
I can always take it back after if I don’t like it.

Exhaust tips got some attention also.

Dusty….but first pic of the car outside with it’s shiny chrome trim looking more original.
The vinyl wrap around the driving lights and the star in the grill were by far the most difficult to remove.
    Full emblem removal is next.

Went to the MTO for plates and she grabbed a set at her desk ending with the numbers 041.
It got me thinking…..so I asked if they had 063 numbers at the end and she started her search….a few minutes later she returned with them!
I thought that was nice that she took the time to find them for me and the quality of plates look good again.

I believe they went back to that style after all the complaints/issues they had with the other plates.
