    ^ Gives me same idea as crack looks to have started under the cowl panel.

    Similar thing happened with my girls accord. Except it was snowing, turned the car on to clear the driveway and I heard a crack as I was shovelling. No cracks or chips.

    Called my windshield guy, said it's odd as well but does happen. Figures he'll know more when he looks at it.

    Did you happen to have your wipers up while washing the car? Then maybe the water hit the wiper and knocked it down into the windshield.
