    That meme also cuts out the primary reason (rail expansion was one reason but the main obstacle to Europeans moving westward were other humans) why they were killing bison and who was conducting the slaughter: "The American bison is the new U.S. national mammal, but its slaughter was once seen as a way to starve Native Americans into submission."

    Just looked. What are you pointing out?

    On another note, fire, like death is a normal part of forest life cycles. Neither is pretty. I believe the lodge pole pine actually needs fire to release it's seeds.
