    better get use to high gas prices electric is coming no matter what anyone thinks —there is so much money being pumped into the electrification right now there is no stopping it. Mines and battery plants are springing up all over north america. I think it's coming faster than anyone really realizes...

    elecrification will only proceed as long as the thumb is on the scale. Petroleum is cheaper. If people have to go hungry to subsidize electric cars, shit will go down.

    They should at least stop subsidizing petroleum (which they've been doing for over 100 years) so we can compare the true pricing between options (also, one is early stage versus mature/cash cow in the life-cycle).

    Until there's an alternative "green" way of getting there (electric powered jets?) in a reasonable amount of time, or Star Trek transporter technology becomes reality, this is the way it will be for the foreseeable future.
