4 letter word starts with S

We hopefully have a month or so left but snow is coming.

Picked up that sled last year for giving the kids rides around.

Need some input on helmets. One issue I have had even when younger and going with buddy’s that had sleds. As soon as I put a helmet on my glasses fog up and I can’t see shit. If I crack the visor open it will clear off when moving but also freeze my face.

Is there an easy fix for this?

Old skin divers trick for fogging of mask was to rub in side of mask with a cut potato. Then rub inside glass with cloth leaving lite film.
Sorry that's all we had in the old days, when we were diving for old pirate ships and gold treasure.
Maybe the world has moved on try a diving store for new advances in preventing mask fogging.

Helmets (like those from Ski-doo) have a built in mask that prevents most fogging. There are also breathing masks that can be used under most other helmets. Regardless of that, should opt for a helmet with an electric shield to keep the shield itself clear(not req'd on the Ski Doo version). Myself, wear the highest rated full face helmet I can buy, feel they offer huge impact protection vs modular helmets. While many will disagree, bought Ross a Ski Doo modular helmet, worked ok ish on preventing glasses fogging but during a ride hinge screw fell out and front of the helmet partially fell off. While a freak occurrence have seen a similar occurrence when a guy dropped his mod helmet on a concrete walkway and the flip up section broke off. Decent helmets even on a tight budget are available at Royal Distributing and some local dealers.

Can confirm. The modular helmet I had literally fell apart when a bolt backed out of it. Had to use a bolt off of my F6 to put it back together to finish off the day. Was quite an experience.

Two of the top helmets available right now for your issue are
    1) Skidoo oxygen helmet and I believe if you trick it out with an electric visor, you are in the $900 range https://shop.ski-doo.com/ca/en/92901...elmet-dot.html
    2) CKX Mission whick comes in a few different iterations. https://www.ckxgear.com/en-ca/page/s...helmet-mission

I was looking at $0.79 for a nice Yukon Gold potato.
