Used Ford 250 XLT

My son is looking at buying an off lease oil field 2018 Ford 250 XLT. Basic cloth seats, etc a work horse. It is located up north so only "full disclosure" from company and pics available. He is in Calgary and has trucking services available, as well as being a former licensed mechanic, but not on Ford vehicles.
Is this Ford known to be a good vehicle or does it have known issues to be aware off. Any input?
Will be used for picking up materials for finishing off a new house, hunting, fishing and camping. Could take to work to put some miles on it during the week as second vehicle.

Sorry it is a 6.2 gas / 6 speed auto.
BIG BUT...........
Due to our taxable benefits laws for employees, it doesn't make much sense to buy it as the cost is just too high.
Looks like a waste of time.
