    Indoor TV antenna

Anyone in the Toronto area have an indoor amplified or non amplified TV antenna?

If you do,how many channels are you getting and how good is the picture quality?

Reception depends on which direction the window faces.
Most Canadian channels come from CN tower, USA stuff is from south Buffalo area but to get those you would need a bigger amplified ant & somewhat good line of sight
This what you get from CN Tower

VHF UHF Virtual Callsign Affiliation Branding
    9 — 9.1 CFTO-DT CTV CTV Toronto
    — 19 19.1 CICA-DT TVO TVO
    — 20 5.1 CBLT-DT CBC Television CBC Toronto
    — 25 25.1 CBLFT-DT Ici Radio-Canada T้l้ ICI Ontario
    — 40 40.1 CJMT-DT Omni Television Omni.2
    — 41 41.1 CIII-DT-41 Global Global Toronto
    — 44 57.1 CITY-DT Citytv Citytv Toronto
    — 47 47.1 CFMT-DT Omni Television Omni.1

PS: CBC is real HD, better than Rogers or Bell compressed signal

over the air (OTA) is the highest quality you'll get. High def, uncompressed. Elevation and obstructions make the difference. You can look up transmission tower locations and compare your position via google earth. Towers out London way also. I'm in Stoney Creek and can pull some Buffalo but obstruction by the escarpment is an issue for me. I also pull some from London direction. Grid panel type are better than omni direction disks etc. You can combine several panels in multiple directions.

A home brew PVR for OTA signals would be handy.

Buy an ATSC TV tuner for your PC - USB or card style are available.

I'm sure whatever software they include must have some sort of DVR functions.

With the limited and crappy OTA channels available in Toronto it's not worth it to me.
Living room window faces north and the TV is beside the window.

Depending on where you live in north america, some people can pull in way more channels with an indoor antenna compared to Toronto.
