    Adjusting stop on B&M shifter

    Hi all,

I have a B&M shifter in my '96 Cobra, when adjusting the shift stops in 3rd and 4th, how much should I back them off and tighten and should I tighten in the natural gear position or tighten like a MGW with pressure on the shifter. Thanks.

YEs with some pressure on the shifter to be sure it's fully in gear.

With "some" pressure on the shifter, just enough to have the slightest of an air gap. Set there, with a good tug it should just touch.

I'll give this a try. I was searching and found anywhere from 1/2 turn to 1-1/2 turns on the screw. It popped out of first a cpl of times the last cpl of years and had a 3rd gear grind when shifting a cpl of times. May be not putting it in 1st gear firmly and my poor race shifting skills. LOL! Thanks Rick.
