    Taurus fan pulls HARD.

It surely does. Exactly what is required to get the job done.
Does require a high current controller though.
Well worth the effort and cost.
Another option, fan from a '99up GT / Cobra etc

If I told you that I had one running around using a Ford starter relay, would you believe me?

About to replicate it on my own wheels here shortly.

If you have a stock width rad or Modular motor swap, I would agree...

I have the '03-'04 OEM Ford Cobra fan (using a Ron Davis 70 amp relay) + Northern rad in the Project Car. There might be a quarter inch of clearance between the fan motor cover and the water pump pulley bolts.

    Early 90's V6.

You'll have to fab up the coolant overflow bottle mounting, but it's a little work for a great Fox fan.

I did one way back when using a commercial / continuous duty solenoid (looks very similar to a starter solenoid), worked like a charm.

Took some flak when mentioned to some about using a starter relay for continuous duty.

Let's think for a minute on what demands that relay is under during it's intended use vs. what we are re-tasking it to do.

    "It's not gonna work"...

Typically a starter relay does not stand up all that well but there are some exceptions. Continuous duty one is a good option, can be spendy though.
