    What are my options?

If I had one key for my truck and I lost that set of keys, what are my options other than towing it to a dealer? It's an '04 so it is equipped with PATS. I have the keyless code so I can get in the truck and I looked around and it's not in there. A locksmith can get me in the door but can they make me a key that will start the truck? What other options do I have?

You'll need to get another key programmed. Dealership for sure or Partsource (not sure if you have to have a set to program from) can program keys.
I think you'll need ownership, license etc. to prove who you are and that you're the owner of the vehicle.

    Edit-from partsource's website
    KEY CUTTING

We're your car key experts! PartSource cuts and programs car keys and vehicle remotes for most makes and models, foreign and domestic. Spend less than most auto dealership prices and visit your local PartSource for fast, reliable and convenient car key and vehicle remote programming.

Dealership says I need 2 keys and wants $250 for 2 keys and programming. Extra for Fobs.

Is it true that I need 2 keys or can I get away with one?

Yes you do need 2 keys to program if I'm not mistaken. I would check part source to see what they charge for programming. If they're much cheaper, go to Ford dealer and get them to make keys from key code. Then bring to PS for program.

    Good luck
