    IRS Failure Info

Was surfing around on corner carvers and saw this thread, complete with pics. Might be worthwhile for everyone with an IRS to have a quick inspection done, as a failure of any type can be catastrophic. This includes Foxes with IRS conversion too; as the install can have an impact on the durability.

Full Tilt Boogie Racing makes upgraded tie rods for the rear.

On the broken arm(s), agree with JH from Maximum that it was likely due to incorrect alignment of the bolts holes after installing the upgraded bushings. Very common for the tabs to be at either odd angles or not in alignment to each other. Not an issue with the rubber bushings.
With the springs out (after installing complete delrin bushings in upper and lower arms), either side of my rear suspension can be cycled through it's range of motion with one or two fingers only, for argument sake, zero bind.

Solid vs IRS, just two different ways to get to the same place. Bonus of the IRS, ride and stability at high speed.
