had a neibour that built engines actually built the one in my old 4 eye, said after the build they would fire them up,let them idle for 5 minutes a few little burps on the throttle and then hammer it like coptzr said...either it work or it don't!!

when they teardown an indy car engine back in the paddock and rebuild it right there on the spot...there's no "okay now go slow at the start of the race to break it in ya hear?" it's "okay not get that shit back on the track and run a better lap time bitch!!"

    just saying

So many different opinions & methods out there. Even with what type of oil to use or not to use. I am considering using some type of breaking in oil, having a startup tune installed. Starting it up and letting it get up to operating temp. Inspecting for leaks. Running the motor under load at various RPM and not redlining it for at least the first 500. Drop the oil, after which getting a dyno tune and spraying the F out of it with nitrous lol.
