    aftermarket gauge light connection

    Want to connect my aftermarket pillar gauges lights not sure where to splice in so they come on when headlights are turned on. Anyone know where and what wire to splice into? Also where did you splice in for your volt gauge. 86 lx was a 6 now 5.0

    I pulled the power from the headlight switch cold side for mine.

    Thanks i hate wiring. Hated when building bikes hate it when doing cars. So when you say cold side??? What was the wire you used or is there a terminal i can connect to

    You need to tap into the dash light circuit so the dimmer will work.
    Using a test light at the headlight switch, look for a wire that powers up when the parking lights are on and dims when you turn the dimmer. If you can't locate or aren't' comfortable figuring it out, dash light wire at the heater controls or radio are easier to track down.

    Thanks a lot i tapped in to the heater control light and for the volt gauge tapped into the heater control wiring

    ya by cold side I meant the side with no power when lights are off.
