Never been to Vegas but I've been to LA a few times.

If you make it there, the Petersen Museum is well worth the visit.

Shelby America is a must see the 1000 wide body. I can't wait to go in august. Just a idea.

Look for O"shea's, I am pretty sure they had one, tore it down but built another one somewhere. Great bar that has beer pong tables!

Not sure if your into clubbing but Vegas has some of the biggest DJ's ....... I was going to say "spinning records" but I think I'm correct to say "wearing headphones around neck with hands in the air". Cover is expensive, prepare for nothing less then $40.00, worth the experience IMO. If you are staying on the strip talk to a manager at the hotel and let them know it's your first time in Vegas, they'll often bump you up to a better room. Shooting guns is tons of fun, if I went back I'd probably head over to the pawn shop to see it in person. If you are driving L.A and the Grand Canyon are both decent. Nothing is cheap in Vegas unfortunately, if your not gambling, but desire some drinks, tip one the hostesses a $1 and she'll be happy to oblige. Be alert to the good looking chick that starts chatting with you in the hotel lobby, she will expect to get paid to do the wild thing! Other then that have a great time!
Do you have any info on the rental?

I have had rentals for $12 a day / unlimited Km
Then did the 4.5 hr drive to LA and did some sightseeing there and visited friends.
Just checking out the interiors of the casinos is fun ( and cheap )
If you just want to look at the Hover dam... drive over it and park for free on the Arizona side and walk
Fremont street is something to see
