I have the power kit, just haven't installed it yet.
But to be honest, how long are you parked at the mall? I just leave the BV plugged in and let it record full time. It doesn't draw much power. I have forgotten it plugged in several times overnight, and no problems with the battery. But now I've got hours of footage of the inside of my garage door

Don, if I've asked this before please forgive me, have you used the Blackvue at Mosport or TMP? If so, what are the videos like quality wise?

I installed mine just now. Worked out really well. The power cord was long enough to route it up into the headliner (unit plugs in from the top so it's nice and clean), down the pass side a-pillar, in thru the side of the dash via a pop panel, and then out from under right into a closeable compartment that has a power point plug. Worked out very well.
