    Engine Issues

So lets diagnose my buddies 03 Marauder. Spun Bearing? Almost sounds like rod knock. Motor is bone stock except for full exhaust, CAI, a tune, 4.10 gears.

Sounds like a broken piston and the rod is banging around in the bore.....could be a rod knock too though. If you wanna help pinpoint it you can tell him to disconnect coils or injectors while it's running, if the noise goes away when disconnecting a specific cylinder it's likely a rod knock.

Need to hear in person to know better. Mod motors can be a bitch to figure out where a sounds coming from. Does it sound like its coming from a valve cover, timing cover or from down below?

Not a spun bearing.....sounds more like a wrist pin hammering around in there. Spun a bearing on an 03 cobra and sounded nothing like that.

But again, hard to diagnose without seeing it in person.

hammer it till something comes thru the block, then you'll see the problem...

hard call as to what it is, but it sure sounds like a sick motor.....

Regardless of what the noise is, gotta jerk dat bitch outta there and strip to inspect. Modular engine making a noise seldom works out well for the wallet.

Might consider pulling valve covers off and look at valve train prior to pulling motor.
I myself have had a rocker come off before....I now have rockers from a GT500 motor on my little 2V
