Airbag Recall Info

New update from Ford this afternoon ... the passenger side airbag can be ordered for 2005-2009 Mustang now. As with the other model years, your dealership will have to do an order by your car's VIN through Ford's Special Service Support Centre.

Is this the second recall on these? Had a recall done already. Is this a new one ?

So your car has the recall 18S01 for the passenger side, that is related to the Takata air bag fault in high heat / humidity areas. The first replacement your car got wouldn't have been the latest greatest version, so it will get replaced again. Parts aren't available for Canadian orders on this one yet.

It gets very confusing for us and the vehicle owners to figure out which recalls have what parts available for everything that is air bag related. Those people at Takata made a big mess worldwide for many different vehicle manufacturers and their dealerships!

Ed i think I remember hearing that there was a recall for the driver Airbag as well?
I know I had the inflator done but not the whole Airbag?

Wow... real mess... any idea when parts will be available?

Not yet ... they've been looking after the southern U.S. first with all of these air bag recalls since the issue is related to high humidity and temps year round.

my mustang has been recalled twice for the drivers air bag. It has been replaced twice. I think I got a recall for the pass side but since there's been no parts for months and months i probably threw it out.
