Chicken Little here again - Thunderstorm/Tornado watch for S.Ontario

Or is it the boy who cried wolf? Regardless, I think if you're in Southern/Central Ontario you should be weather aware. There isn't much standing in the way of storms today, but it could still fall apart and become just a rainy mess. That said, if and I mean IF things hold together we could be looking at large hail and tornadoes. Even Environtment Canada has issued a rare Moderate Risk.

We need a little excitement. As much as we laugh when the entire state of Georgia closes down because they get an inch of snow, I bet the folks in Tornado Alley just laugh at us when we start to panic with these moderate warnings.

Yeah but we suffer through crap winters and 2 weeks of summer to not have to bother with Hurricanes and Tornadoes.

Better to be prepared if it does pan out.

Not really a warning. It's just Environment Canada's (the Natioal Weather Service does it too) way of saying that it's a possibility. Think of it a precursor to a watch, which may come later on in the day with warnings like to follow if need be.

That said any warnings should be taken seriously today.

Tornado watch in effect for Caledon.

    Watches

    9:50 AM EDT Wednesday 10 June 2015
    Tornado watch in effect for:
    •Caledon
    •Halton Hills - Milton

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes.

Scattered thunderstorms will affect portions of the above regions late this morning and this afternoon. It is possible that a few of these storms could produce an isolated tornado.

Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area, it is recommended you take the following actions: Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.

Chicken Little kept crying the sky is falling, I think OP was referencing the fact he has many posted Weather Warning threads. Made sense to me.
