    Need quick advice

Need a winter tire/rim setup ASAP - I tried the search but couldn't seem to find anything

Best place in Etobicoke to get a set of Rims and winter tires for S550 i4 turbo - PP (19")

Do I need TPMS or just live with the light on?

    Thanks

That's your call, if you know when a tire is low then you'll have no worries, it's probably a $500 difference in cost.

Sucked it up and installed in my wifes HHR, light would start blinking and chime goes off every few minutes, drives ya nutz. On the flip side, bunch safer so money well spent.

You'll need 18" at least with lots of brake clearance to go over those calipers ... your car should have the same brakes as base GT, which are 14" rotors with bulky 4-piston calipers. Then 235/50R18 winter rubber. Ford actually has a good price when purchased as a set of 4 on the base 18" painted wheels that look like this:

We have a set in stock at club sponsor Parkway Ford where I work, off the top of my head they would be about $180 each at club pricing. I know that we can sell you the proper new style 2015 TPMS sensors for $200 for a set of 4, those are also in stock. Waterloo is a bit of a drive from Etobicoke, but I could also bring them home to Caledon and meet you somewhere in the GTA west end, maybe even put together a full package with tires for you. Shoot me a p.m., or an email to parts@parkwayford.ca if you're interested in more info.

    cheers

We can do those wheels for $169.00 each + HST, and $50.00 each for the sensors as mentioned. if you have a brand preference for tires, I can price out a package for you. Depends on whether you're looking for a performance winter tire that doesn't give up as much dry grip to the summer tires, or something that just focuses on snow / slush / ice performance.

    thx,

So we ended up doing a package for Michael with the 18" Ford OEM alloys and Michelin X-Ice Xi3 winter tires, and pressure sensors. Total price was $1899.95 installed & balanced, + HST.

I've attached a few photos to show the actual wheels and how they look on his new ragtop. His car is an Ecoboost with the Performance pack as mentioned above, so it has the same brakes as the base 2015-up GT ... 14" front rotors with large 4-piston calipers that are a bulky casting and need lots of wheel spoke clearance. These OEM wheels have plenty of clearance and are a perfect fit since they are made specifically for the S550 cars.

Thanks again Ed - looks great on the car and had its first taste of slush today - with snow mode handles way better than my wife's Sienna with the same tires.

How do you find the top holding up in the cold/snow etc...?

I picked it up last Wednesday so with the holidays we drove the Sienna - today was its first snow day but from all the reading I've done it should be fine - just keep the top clean of salt at the coin op car wash. Time will tell - I'll let you know in the spring.
