    Cowl or not?

I'm really on the fence. I like the look (on most days), like the extra breathing room and getting some cool air in there. But it's not a 700hp twin turbo fox that needs this special attention. I bought it on an impulse, what I really want is the Cobra R hood.

I just slapped it on there to procrastinate a few months. If I stick with it I'll get it fixed up and painted by a friend of mine in Quebec. If not, I'll pass it along at the same deal I got it.

I have always liked the way they looked on a fox hatch but like you said, you probably don't need it. Meh.. fuck it! I would keep it on there.

Thanks guys. After drinking a lot in the garage looking at my notch. I figured cowl hoods aren't my thing. They always look great to me on other people's cars but not sure how I like it on mine. I wouldn't mind the smaller metal cowl or the cobra r hood (seen it in person, I can live with that). Besides I think my Typhoon intake with spacer will fit under the stock hood anyway.

To me, nothing suits a Fox more than a short 1.5 - 2" cowl.

What bugs me is the gap between the hood and bumper (where the ford logo is). Also the curve around the headlights isn't round enough. Stupid little details like this will make me hate the car, otherwise the hood seems to fit well and it's pretty solid. It's my retardedness that's screwing me over.

My immediate response was going to be 'not', but that hood isn't too bad.
Big NO for me on the Cobra R hood. I think they look hideous ....unless bolted to a Cobra R.

I don't like the (lack of) balance on a notch when there is a big hood and just the small flat trunk out the back. On a notch, I'd say no. But on a hatch with something like a Saleen style wing out back to balance the rise in the front, absolutely!!
