    Aren't the clutches hydraulic?

Clearly I'm not picturing what this spring does.

Yes they are hydraulic. The clutch pedal comes with a "helper" spring, to do just that help. Its suppose to be really hard with out it.I've heard that its's just a little stiffer. The 200lbs spring makes things a little sloppy, the Steeda spring makes things smoother, supposebly. I'm removing it today, and installing it a soon as I pick it up Friday.

Ok removed the stock 200lbs assist spring. It is much stiffer to ingauge ,but I like it .The pedal has a little play at the top, where before it didn't.Going to pick up my son from school and will give another update.

It feels like the Centerforce Racing clutch, that I had in my 85 GT.

Ok so your reducing the assist, or increasing the required force to engage the the clutch...... correct?

Couldn't google much about this, but it sounds like the this spring helps 'push down' on the clutch pedal to reduce the effort required to depress the clutch?
In other words: it's riding the clutch all day long?
So installing a 95lb spring versus a 200lb spring is going to make the pedal harder to push?

LOL, I put a put a spring on my clutch pedal to do the opposite! I guess you could say my clutch has a -2lb spring.

Steeda say's it's more of a linear application with the 95lbs as to the 200lbs.It also stops it from sticking when power-shifting. It's totally different than ,your set up.

    For clarification.

The whole theory behind removing the spring, was to stop the clutch from sticking to the floor during high RPM shifting. The spring helps push the pedal down. However, with the MT82 being the colossal pile of garbage it is, It sticks to the floor. Not everyone has had it happen, but it does happen. It's happened to me so I yanked mine out.

Once removed, the slop at the top of the pedal is revealed. Some people didn't like this so steeda came up with a solution. A spring with enough tension to take up the slop but not strong enough to keep the pedal on the floor.

    Hope this helps clarify anything.
