Most 'new' starters are just remanufactured anyways.

bad battery would still usualy at least try to crank, unless it dead, dead, but then you would not have lights, as well. if lights re bright and it just clicks with no dimming, I would be looking at starter or connections.

Starter solenoid integral to the starter on your truck?

Yes, solenoid is integral with the starter.

    Battery is new.

Once the “no-start” condition clears itself, the truck will start normally for a couple of weeks. When I say “intermittent problem” I really mean intermittent.

I have had similar issues with my fox and found there was a ignition switch recall, perhaps something similar

"Roger your plan to go EVA and replace Alpha-Echo three-five unit prior to failure."
Guess I know what I’m doing this weekend.

New starter showed up at my doorstep this morning.

It came with a dyno sheet!

Hope it goes better than my starter job.

Delivery guy took the cube van to the scrap yard. And it stalled as he was getting back. Wouldn’t start again.

Looks like he hit something in the yard. Smashed the starter and bent the starter bolts.

Been waiting for almost a month for replacement bolts.

GM starter bolts, common for them to bend / shear off in the block or break the block itself if not correctly tightened or if bolts are too long and have bottomed out.
