    I doubt you need to modify the body side brackets.

    When you buy a new cross member from Ford Racing M-5059-A, it's adjustable. Meaning the cross member is not welded up to the bushing sleeves.
    Once you install it on the car and slide the cross member to where it needs to be, bolt the trans mount to it, you tack weld it into place (crossmember to bushing sleeve).

    79 -81 came with the 2.75" chassis mount where the 82 and up dbl hump im using is 4.5" either way the cross member was hitting the tranny before it was even close to the mountand was also almost 2" to far to the front. Mounts have already been cut off amd sandblasted. Just waiting on new crossmember bushings to relocate the mounts and weld in new locaton
