The top NASCAR teams, under the umbrella of the Race Team Alliance, have strategically put out word that they’re exploring the possibility of staging their own exhibition races as early as a year from now.
Does this mean they can potentially go and start their own league outside of NASCAR?

Not sure how any of it will play out or if it's just a warning shot across the bow of Nascar.
It’s just a warning shot. They are not permitted to use their current cars outside of NASCAR sanctioning. Any team that wanted to compete would all have to build a new spec car to compete.
Glad I don't own any Columbia stuff, and probably wouldn't buy it regardless.
