Good for Jimmy, but the weakest eligable team won the championship. That's not how professional sports should work. I hate this stupid playoff format they use. You could win every single race up the final race and lose the championship. Soooooo lame.

So, Nascar's wonderful chase has gifted Johnson yet another "championship". He'll never be on the same level as Petty or Earnhardt, no matter how many times he wins. I just wonder what this championship will do to Nascar's ratings.

Why not just make the whole season 1 race. Go to Daytona and the winner is the champion. Chase is stupid. I hate the 22 but I was pulling for hm to beat he 48. Pretty sad that a teams whole season rides on 1 race and the driver feels he has to defend like Edwards did on the restart with the 22. 1 bad decision (forced by the stupid chase) decides the entire season for a whole team.
Congrats to 48 team for falling into a 7th Championship which means absolutely nothing when compared to 7 whole season championships by Petty and Earnhardt.

Joey's inability to be patient combined with Carl's move to keep himself in contention cost the pair of them a shot at the end. Jimmy's ability to stay calm n focused on the prize paid off in spite of him not having the car to win. If those two had stayed outta trouble, very doubtful he'd have finished ahead of them. In the end, it is what it is, hate the game, not the players. You can rest assured it was a tough go back in the day, just as challenging but in different ways now.
Respect for JJ and his 7 championships.
