    03/04 Cobra Questions

    Hey guys,

Just helping out a friend who is doing some mods on his Termi.

What are the limits of the stock 39lb injectors and fuel pumps? When are upgrades like MAF and BAP needed?
Also, what are the limits of the stock blower with how much boost? When should it be ported?

Sorry about general questions, let me know if you need more details!

Car is getting a upgraded heat exchanger as well.....does it need an upgraded pump?

    Thanks!!!

On stock blower he'll never run out of injectors, some need a MAF though.
    Stock IC pump is good.
To keep IAT's in reality, don't overdrive the blower as hard as some will suggest.
Not a fan of ported blowers, wanna make more squeeze n run harder, buy a bigger blower.
Safe tune on stock blower = in the 460 at the rear tires range
Stock pumps are fine for h/p capable from the stock blower.

Thanks Rick! He is looking at a 4" lower and 2.76 upper which from what I have read is too much for a stock blower. And IMO would probably not be good for a ported one either.
Whats a good pulley combo that keeps things in check?

Ya that's spinning it pretty good haha. I ran a 2.76 upper on a stock blower, Accufab elbow and single blade t/b, long tubes, mid pipe and borla stinger cat back was a very consistant car and I'd say my favorite car I've owned to this day.

Made 470-501 or something like that.

To me, 2.76 upper n call it a day until he upgrades the blower itself. Most get by with the stock MAF but odd one pegs n needs upgrading. Add in a set of TR6 gapped to about .030 and an additional idler pulley below the blower and he's got a great combo that will not disappoint (with the appropriate tune of course).

Is the additional idler to help keep belt tension? I really need to learn more about these cars.

Yes cuts down slip via additional belt wrap (its pulley with gold bolt / comes with support bracket / straight forward to install)

Anyone I know that has done a lower pulley on a cobra has been asking for trouble and got it.

2.8 upper and that's already spinning it pretty hard.

Larger IC is very important IMO.
