Went drag racing last night :)

Took my car to SMP last night , tell me what you think

    1995 mustang Vert
    Full leather
    All power options
    Full Mach 460
Bbk shorties bbk Catted X and flows
Stock engine aside from an Oem cobra intake and a bbk CAI
    18" Saleen wheels
    3.73 gear
    H&r supersport springs

    Car went 14.1

I figured this was pretty darn good for a vert bolt on car

I'm not one to gut a car and go drag racing but with a little weight removal this car should go 13,s and I think that's respectable ? Am I wrong

Going to the track and thrashing on your car is what counts, whether in a straight line or corner carving. Setting a baseline and then moving forward until you have reached some limit; all the while having fun and learning is my inclination.

I'm sure if you post your time slips details, some drag race experts can chime in with comments and advice. I believe the 60ft time is usually the single most crucial measurement, as it affects everything logarithmically beyond that.

    Carry on

Low 14 in an SN95? I'd say you're doing alright.
Weight reduction is always good in any racing. Second thing I would do is get rid of those 18" Saleens.

Even on a 125 shot of nitrous, I only went 13.5 in my 94 GT vert. 14.7 N/A, so you're doing great.

look at the weight of the wheels and tires. Way too many "performance cars" come with 18s or 20s (tire+wheel combo) that weigh 60 lbs a corner.
Lightweight 17" Enkeis weigh 16 lbs with a 25 lb tire in the 255 width. That's huge, if you put skinnies on the front that's even more helpful.....in the quarter mile anyways.

What mile per hour and what does your car weigh with you in it?
