Been happy with all my BBK stuff over the year , I would go long tubes with an x pipe
Long tubes for sure........BBK fit very well. H or X really depends on sound preference. I have a BBK long tubes with catted H pipe and am very happy.
What kind of car? If it's a 5.0 fox I'd stay away from long tubes, they make everything way harder to do. BBK or JBA are very good, stick wi an h-pipe for a deeper sound.
My suggestion, BBK unequal length shorties with H or X pipe with cats.
Really depends on what your motor has done to it and what you are looking for. Shorties will give you more torque but reduce high rpm power, stock motors don't rev high and need more torque anyways.
Long tubes cost more and are way more difficult to install and will have some challenges incl lower ground clearance. Once you have aftermarket cyl heads or a blower that's for sure the way to go for max power.
High flow cats and an X or H pipe is smart. Stick with 2.5 or 2.25" mufflers and tailpipes.
My BBK long tubes have no ground clearance issues at all and my car is looowww. They are tucked up quite nicely. Install was actually not too bad either. We had to jack up the motor but I think difficulty depends more on how clean your car is in regards to rust etc with all the exhaust bolts.
^Compared to shorties, long tubes are brutal to install, also make accessing the starter and trans bellhousing next to impossible.
