Received recall notice for freezing locks on my f150 last month, should have dealt with it then... couldn't get into the back seat this morning..

Moving the mustang to storage tomorrow so the truck will be in the garage and out of the cold, hopefully that will help until I can get it into Ford for the repair.

Gotcha. Regardless whatever the cost it would be worth it, this is a great example of that. Actually would have been way better off just sending a cheque.

Stumbled across this little hem today.......

    https://ca.reuters.com/article/busin...BN1E82DN-OCABS

Basically it looks like Ontario thinks it’s cool to pay $75k towards your purchase of a new electric rig to stimulate sales!!! What the fuck??? Tesla isn’t even a Canadian company, and even if it was this is some stupid shit.........well, I guess they gotta get rid of the electricity somehow, might as well just charge the taxpayer again for it.

Cost me a lot more than that when buying US property.

Agree that TD was being difficult with them and just dragging it out.

The CPA does indicate that cheques are stale-dated after 180 days but doesn't apply to drafts, certified items, money orders as you noted but they recommend that the FI looking to honour it should confirm by phone/fax or sent for collection to the originating FI first before paying out (if after 180 days). You'd think they would do this for that amount of money anyway whether less than or above the 180 days to make sure it isn't fraudulent and not put these folks through all the hoops that they ignored anyway.

    Getting old
Was at a specialist to check something out, doctor looked like Doogie Howser.
Realizing the very reference to Doogie Howser makes me feel even more ancient.

    I need a drink.

Suppose to look at a new work truck tomorrow that we are putting a Down payment on and hoping to finance the rest. Wanted to have the down payment with me so we could get the ball rolling ASAP since it’s an hour drive from us.

Went to the bank. “I need a bank draft or certified check but I don’t know who it’s going to be make out to.”

“Sorry sir can’t do one without a name on the received by line.”

“Crap. Okay no worries I’ll just take cash”

“Okay how much to do need to withdraw”

    “$20,000”

“Sorry sir we don’t keep that much in hand you need to give us 3 business days notice”

So I have my money. Sitting in my account. But I can’t have it. Thanks.

they give you the stink-eye for as little as $3,000 cash nowadays......not surprised they shit a brick on $20k

surprised they didn't get all giddy and offer you some line of credit garbage for an amount you don't need to borrow
