I think the difference is in where the car is built; Ford builds a Shelby model in their plant and sells it thru their dealers, whereas customers have an option to have Shelby America take an existing Mustang (GT) and customizes it with various Shelby parts, aftermarket superchargers, eg. Kenne Bell in the Supersnake, in their facilities/authorized shops.
Which car would you rather have..? One that’s undergone thousands of hours of severe testing to ensure reliable performance OR a car that’s ripped apart and put back together with a mishmash of parts AND has a huge price tag and performance that recent history has shown doesn’t live up to its name...?
I’m not sure what all is done to this one but it’s running 9.1 @ 154.
Lund tune, E85, seats out, drag wheels as far as I can tell.
Comments speculate a pulley, drag suspension, possibly a ported blower, also.
Why would you paint the roof black...?

Why not? Breaks up the bright paint colours a bit. I like the black roof on my 17 GT, makes the car not quite so YELLOW!!!
