Before I waist my time standing in line at service ontario do I need an appraisal for my 1966 mustang or will the bill of sale do?

Probably need an appraisal. My brother needed one for his 1994 Camaro.

Not an actual appraisal, you need a HST appraisal. It's about $40, many guys are mobile and will come to you.

I told them my stang was worth 2500$ on a hand written note. Gave me no issues. The second they see the year of the car they don’t question it

All vehicles (car, trucks) over 20 years old will require a HST appraisal in able to register the vehicle in your name.

Oddly, last spring when I purchased Kath's '16 Santa Fe, no value shown on the sellers package, being as I was out near Niagara n office closed in 1/2hr thought I was screwed for picking up. Go to lic office anyways, she saw no value, asked me if I paid what was written down n signed by seller, replied yes (had pic on my phone of bank draft if she'd asked) and she put it through with no hassle. Walked out a lil dumbfounded but pleased.
When we changed Ross's car over at purchase, needed tax appraisal, same when I bought the '05. Have no explanation why some slide through while others don't.

When I traded the 2001 Camaro for the 2002 Corvette there was no value for the car in the UVIP. I went to the MTO to register and explained to the girl at the counter that I traded the car straight up with no cash exchanged....... She printed a $0.00 receipt and said "sign here" Walked out the door paying no HST
