New car this year? I may start watching again. When is Daytona?
Brand new cup car.
Trans axle cars. single lug hub. Composite bodies. 18inch wheels. Huge brakes, bigger front splitter, rear diffuser.... rear video camera.
Dual side exit exhaust. Number relocation. Same engine/rear wing package at 95% of the tracks.
Sequential gear box
... i'm sure i'm forgetting some other things.
It is a wicked car. Light years in terms of performance from what they have been running.

So its a IMSA GTLM car now....?
Part of me wants them to stay stock....or more like they were. Where there's a 3rd pedal, crappy brakes and suspension.
Stock engine Fox equipped with the Maximum Motorsports catalog. Now I have lots of Trick Flow stickers.
The main reason for all the changes was...
1. The old car was so behind the times in terms of performance.
2. The cost of operating them has gone down by a significant amount. You'll now be able to wreck these cars and not be upside down in money.
- hence why there are 2 or 3 brand new teams going into Nascar Cup racing this season, it finally makes sense from a financial POV
3. A fair number of safety changes have been added, the 1 lug nut, new cage design.
