Thread: Not sure if this can be called a "muscle car", but it's quick enough

Just a classy cruiser with some oomph Don. I can't imagine the brakes lasting more than a few laps on a tight track before exploding if I had any pace going ... weight is around 4,200 lbs., and it has single piston calipers over roughly 11.5" rotors. If I end up keeping the car for a while I'l investigate options for an upgrade in that area, on the street they feel fine.

Now that you own a Jaguar, you'll need to be sure to pronounce it correctly. There's an emphasis on the U and there's no W.

So I made a liar of myself last weekend at the Hanson school held at the Mosport DDC on Saturday. It had been raining earlier in the morning, and no sun out to dry things up, so I figured that I couldn't lean on the car too much to hurt anything. One of the other coaches had a 95 Audi Quattro turbo to chase around with, the Jag was entertaining. Cheapo tires on it didn't offer much grip, which I expected, had to stab the gas to get the car to rotate then saw at the wheel to keep it headed in the proper general direction. LOL

I'd forgotten that Derek Hanson had owned a late 90s XJR (the V8 SC version) many years back. He and Peter were getting a chuckle out of seeing the car on track.

    cheers

I suspect there is someone in the back seat reading a paper sipping champagne.
