I would be interested if it still offers manual transmission. Gas prices are rising. I wish we could get cars like in Europe that get 60+ mpg non hybrid :stickpoke:

Sorry but a Hybrid Mustang is a huge fail in my books!! That's not what comes to mind when I think of a Mustang. Might as well kill off the brand and rename it again as a Ford Probe.

gotta meet cafe requirements for fleets.. its just one for that.. still gonna have other motor options..
maybe you guys should know about what is required for car companies to reach epa targets.

Do you all get mad if your local ice cream store starts offering different flavors even though yours is left on the menu unchanged?

Dunno how its a fail, like BAB said, CAFE is a bitch so gotta bring that average down somehow, plus it may attract a wider range of buyers.

May not appeal to us but Ford is thinking about future buyers who have been educated 'green'. I think it's a smart move on their part for this reason

Is the hybrid option for fuel economy? or performance?

You guys are all looking at it like a Prius.
I'm thinking Porsche 918 Spyder

BAB CObra

lol.. 918 spyder.. we cant make the mustang faster than the FORD GT come on now...

its for CAFE reasons.. your fleet has to have an avg govt rating for mpg or else you in shit and also emissions.

So in that reason the full line of electrics and hybrids coming out.. meanwhile FCA is screwed with all their hemi gas guzzlers lol

hybrid cars can all take off as you put it.
its instant torque.

we had a ranger electric we screwed around with that would do 1/4 mile in 9s lol.

Electric motor = max torque at zero rpm. Ford's got some great tech going in to the new vehicles, I can see a Mustang Hybrid being more than just about fuel economy numbers.

Lmao! You can't compare a million dollar car to a $50,000 heap. A hybrid Mustang would be a complete disaster.

No, but the concept is the same: engine charges up the cells, then bang! Instant gobs of torque!

WTF

new hybrid tech is pretty amazing stuff

but...when it comes to dropping $50ish grand on a hot rod...tech isn't everything imo

here's the 2016 Ferrari F1 car....V6 turbo hybrid that charges up it's cells to give the car another 150+hp at the push of a buttom

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu3MvfBRpiQ

here's a 1995 Ferrari F1 car with a naturally aspirated V12

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SoZiTxdQyw

the 2016 car is about 7 or 8 seconds per lap fast that the 1995 car around Monaco

but which one would you like to take for a ripp?
