So one of my favorite band is coming to the rogers center in July and my friends and I want to go see them, so I go to the ticket master Web site 10 minutes before the tickets go on sale and wait with my credit card in hand ready to buy, finally tickets go on sale and I want 4 at the 100 level, mind you I,m on right at 10,and wouldn't, the you know I can't get any cause the tickets are all sold out, WTF?

Thread title should be "ticket master rant". Nothing to do with Metallica.

Seems to be the new norm. Same thing happened with the Tragically Hip tickets. Scalpers own the market until some kind of reform is introduced.

That didn't help. I tried getting tickets on Wednesday, and ended up going with one of the VIP packages.

I have come to the conclusion is a corrupt system, and if I really want to see a performer, bite the bullet and pay. Government isn't going to do squat anyways. Last set of tickets I bought for a show at Copps in Hamilton, were sold to me by some guy in OHIO. $200 a seat.

Hey there. Huge Metallica fan here. I bought the unforgivin vip, which was the cheapest one. I kind of wish I went with the sandman for early access and the dinner sounds decent too. The tickets went on presale last Tuesday morning. That would have been the only time you could have a got a good seat or GA ticket for regular price. By the time They went on sale to the public on Friday the prices have tripled or more. It sucks but it's the way the system works, even Ticketmaster are guilty of jacking prices. It's just the way it works now.

Anyway, I am so pumped for this. Last time I saw them was in '94 at Molson park, I was 13 years old. It's going to be great.

I went with the same package. A lot more than I hoped to spend, but it's Metallica. lol

I'm going to the Marlies game tomorrow with my daughter. Nearly sold out but the map thing shows the available seats to choose from. There are some good groups of 3 seats available so I pick 2 of them ... NOPE. It stops the purchase saying that I cannot choose seats that will leave an available single seat on an aisle or adjacent to other sold seats!! Are you fucking kidding me? So all the available groups of 3 can only be sold if you take all 3? Fucking bullshit. Ticketmaster is so eff'd up that even if the show or game or whatever isn't sold out immediately they find another way to screw you over.

That happened to me last year buying tickets to see the Jays in Baltimore. We wanted 3 seats but most were in groups of 4. It's not just Ticketmaster, I believe that's the venue not wanted for single seats. Don't get me wrong, everything Ticketmaster does is fucking shit! I hate having to deal with them, but that's what happens when you have a monopoly.

No wonder that will happen, its Metallica. They should have a better venue with larger capacity.

If it's something you care about, time to speak up:

The Ontario government wants input from the public to develop "practical solutions" for giving people a "fair shot" at buying tickets for concerts, sports and other events, says Attorney General Yasir Naqvi.

Just more Koolaid from the Socialist Liberals.

It was Liberals that deregulated tickets sales, allowing an event Ticket to be sold at a profit legally in Ontario. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2016/06/03/hip-fallout-or-how-the-government-made-ticket-scalping-legal-in-ontario.html

Yasir Naqvi, and the rest of your pillow biting Liberals, take your pandering and Fuck Off!

“In many cases it’s a transaction between two willing parties — the seller’s happy to sell and the buyer’s happy to buy at that price, provided there are protections in place.”
Well there's the real problem now. I'm not sure "happy" is the right term. "Willing" would seem more accurate. The market would correct itself if people just didn't pay for ridiculously priced tickets. But they will.

Ticket Speculation Act

Wow, that one is a gem. Thanks, wasn't aware of that legislation.
