If you don't own a tin-foil hat, they are a great thermostat. We have one in the house, and one in the garage. For the garage, the wireless capability is fantastic. I can turn on/off the heat from my couch while I'm having my morning coffee, then go work in the garage. The house thermostat is nice because of the learning capability. It basically figures out on it's own when to raise and lower the temp based on usage.

Don't know anything about the other products.

We just got a thermostat a few days ago, haven't installed it yet though.

I have a thermostat and 2 cameras at my house. Very reliable products, and the app is easy to use. A tad pricey but the true value comes from the quality and reliability. I would recommend.

If you are looking to eventually integrate a whole home automation system, you may want to look elsewhere as Nest doesn't currently play nice with other platforms.

I've had the thermo since it was launched.
They did a software upgrade in 2014 which made my 4 wire system no longer compatible.
They paid for an HVAC technician and drywall guy to come in and run a 5 wire to the furnace.
Cost to me was zero.
Billed to them was just under $500.00.
That's customer service.
Who gives a shit if google knows when I adjust my temperature.
I also bought the CO2/smoke detector last year.
Works great and no more false alarms when I burn my toast :D.

I certainly would... It not just that Google is watching everything, it's also a perfect gateway for a hacker to access your network.

First of the likely hood of anyone hacking any of us is very unlikely.
Unless you have something that would benefit them they aren't wasting their time.
So I worry even less about that. I have 2 switches on my wifi network that allow me to control whatever is plugged in to them from anywhere in the world.
That's technology.
I travel for work and both those switches and my Nest products make life more convenient for me. I'm hoping in the next 10 years for complete automation of my whole house.

Looking to buy a couple of these real soon and yes it also connects to my wifi :D

Nest thermostat doesn't operate a modulating furnace properly.

Also, from what I've read, to hack a Nest thermostat, the hacker needs access to the thermostat first.

What kind of switches do you have? (Sorry, going a bit off topic).

It is pricey for what it does. Over the last year though the prices are coming down.

Competition is driving the market. Which is great for the consumer.

Nest Cam is on sale at Lowes for $199.00, and if you spend $200 or more you get another 10% off. Best deal I've seen so far.

Im running 2 nest smoke/CO2 detectors, really like them, plan to add a nest Thermostat in the future

was away came into the house
stat calling for 71 house at 62
I move it a bit then furnace starts

They are very easy to reset.
There's a few resets available.
