This is the drain in my basement and it seems that the "trap primer" (I think thats what it is) is leaking 24hrs a day for the last week or so.

Never noticed before but over last 5-7 days its been non stop.

Not sure what the water is from...my guess was the water softener which I unplugged as of four hrs ago and it keeps leaking. :(

Anyone know why this has not stopped running pls let me know and............................ also any one know how to program a water softener cause i have no idea how to use mine

I had one (trap seal primer) installed when I had a new drain put in. Mine has a screw that adjusts to the pressure in the water supply line. It is suppose to be set so that no water flows until there is a drop in pressure. If you're is the same, you just need to fiddle with the screw.

Isolate your water softener see if it stops (bypass valve or shutoff valve ) that's a good flow to be just the little primer on the back of the laundry faucet , but u can check that too
