Arrived in Austin yesterday for the 2017 Zcon.

Trailered the car pulled by my F150 5.0. I really think the load was too much for the truck. About 7000lbs which I think is the limit. Averaged 8.5 miles per gallon. Never paid more than 2.15 per gallon.

Trailer was coming apart, with heavy winds. Popped about 10 screws on one panel.

But we're here, ready to have some fun.

Will post pictures later in the proper forum.

We recently pulled our 12' dump trailer, loaded with dirt to the brim with our F-150 5.0. No problem at all

I think the gearing is not good. It wouldn't stay in gear. I ran in 3rd gear for at least 25% of the time.
It is a 3:31.
I think 3:55 would be better.

"Would ya look at the size of that kid’s head! It’s a virtual planetoid and it has it’s own weather system! Looks like an orange on a toothpick! I’m not kidding, that boy’s head is like Sputnik; spherical but quite pointy at parts! Aye, now that was offsides, now wasn’t it? He’ll be crying himself to sleep tonight, on his huge pillow."

Today was the judged car show. I am in the Ultra Modified class.
Hotter than hell today will little shade to take shelter in. 97 felt like 104,,,

The good news is the my car was judged twice. What this means is that on the first go round I scored at least 280 out of 300. The secon judging is to determine if the first group of judges were on crack or were good in their assessments. If in fact I do score 280 or more the car would win th Gold Medal. This would be the highest award my car could ever receive. The only downside is the the car would be retired from competition in Z car events. It would be eligible for display though

At dinner tonight a good friend and one who is involved in the judging indicated I would be very happy come Saturday night. So we will see if he is right or just blowing smoke.

Pictures are loading. I will post soon.

Didn't see any. But possible rain from a tropical storm west of here on Saturday.
Heading home Sunday, may further west through St. Louis. This leads us away from the bad weather.
