I have three of the small tender jr and one of the larger tenders.
I use them year round not just for long term storage. Mine and Dads Harley's have them wired right to the bike so it's easy when you pull in the garage just plug in. Both bikes didn't need battery replacement until 10 years.
The Cobra also has the hook up and gets the same treatment.
The larger one I just picked up along with a new deep cycle battery for the dump trailer so that I will know it's ready for work at any time.

Great product

stupid question.....do you leave the battery in the car and simply add the tender clamps/connectors to the batteries posts, or do you disconnect the battery cables from the car and then connect the tender connectors to the battery?

I've typically disconnected the battery from the car and then connected the trickle charger (GENIUS) to it.

Advantage to leaving the battery disconnected, if the varmits get in there n start chewing, no fire.

Always take my battery out, just makes it easy to tuck the tender and battery away in a corner. I also don’t leave mine plugged in all winter, seems unnecessary. My boats deep cycle batteries stay plugged in all winter.

That's a great point - always stored in my own garage, so varmints were never an issue. If storing offsite, I'd disconnect for sure.

With the bikes the connection is in the wire harness for the bike. Just pokes out near the starter. Factory installed.
So yes stays hooked upon a he bike. Car and dump trailer same thing but car does have a disconnect switch
