I don't know, I'm having mixed feeling on this... The car looks and probably sounds great, but it's beating the same dead horse a third time around. I guess whatever sells.

Who the hell approves a car called Bullitt and doesn’t specify Bullitt wheels on it? I mean really, it’s not that hard to make a wheel that resembles a torque thrust. The car may be awesome, but that one thing kills it for me.

Like the original 68 fastback to the tribute models from the past. This is part of the Bullitt's characteristics, blacked out or removed markings and/or badges.

EDIT: Any mention if these cars will be numbered or a limited production run?

Yes, numbered badge in the glove box area as shown in the video Armen posted (around the 10:00 mark).

^^^This.

The car is near perfect but I gotta agree that speciality Bullitt wheels would have made this car perfect. Also it could have used a bigger set of rim/tire in the rear.

Unfortunately I think that's about the closest look you'll get to a Torq Thrust style wheel and still have enough spoke clearance for the big 15" Brembo brakes. Keep in mind that these brake rotors are as large as the wheel diameter on the original car!

This might have been mentioned in another thread, but the first production Bullitt ser # 001 is being sent to the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction with proceeds going to the Boys Republic charity ... the same facility that helped Steve McQueen through his teen years:

https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2018/01/18/new-ford-mustang-bullitt-headed-to-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-au.html

DETROIT, Jan. 18, 2018 – Ford and the Steve McQueen estate are auctioning the first new Mustang Bullitt off the factory line to benefit Chino Hills, California-based Boys Republic, a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian school and treatment community for troubled youngsters.

VIN 001 of the limited-edition 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt will be available for charity auction Friday at 7:30 p.m. MST at Barrett-Jackson’s annual Scottsdale Auction.

Steve McQueen graduated from Boys Republic in 1946 before becoming a successful actor starring in the movie “Bullitt,” about troubled police detective Frank Bullitt, who also “made it.”

The “Bullitt” car chase scene around the streets of 1968 San Francisco is one of the most memorable ever, making the dark green fastback Mustang coupe driven by detective Frank Bullitt a movie icon. Ford recently found the original movie car used in the film.

One hundred percent of the 2019 Mustang Bullitt auction proceeds will be provided to Boys Republic to help children in desperate need find within themselves the resources and skills to begin meaningful lives on their own.

Since its founding in 1907, Boys Republic has guided more than 30,000 at-risk teenage boys and girls toward productive, fulfilling lives.

In partnership with Barrett-Jackson, the leader in collector car auction events, the 2019 Mustang Bullitt in signature Dark Highland Green will be one of the most sought-after cars up for auction at Collector Car Auction Week in Scottsdale, Arizona.

So it looks like they've come up with 480 hp as the final number for the 2019 Bullitt, 20 more than the standard GT engine:

I didnt say it looked BAD, i think the fusion looks awesome....has kind of a Jag/Aston Martin look to it i just think a mustang should be a mustang not a car that looks kinda like 3 other cars. You wouldnt mistake a Viper for a Charger....thats all im saying.

I would rock one in a heartbeat. I also like the new Crimson red colour that came out this year for 2018.

I've made that argument before as well.

Then someone pointed out that the Foxbody resembled the Thunderbird, small LTD and larger Crown Vic, with their 4 squared headlights, etc. Then they revamped in 1987 to the aero-nose and it resembled the Ford Taurus. The Jellybeans resembled the Ford Contour's face.

The only Mustang of recent times that actually had it's own styling was the 2005-2014, which was 'inspired' by the 67+ Mustangs.

Other than that, they've all had their similarities to the 'company face' of the time.

I guess theres some similarities to other cars in the ford lineup but not quite as bad as this years cars...ive never mistaken a 79-93 or sn95 for anything else...even the Capri has enough defining features to distinguish it from a mustang.

The Bullitt this time round seems to have tiny more edge in hp than the regular GT.

2001: 265 vs. 260hp and 305 vs. 302 tq
2008: 315 vs. 300hp and 325 vs. 320 tq
2018:*485 vs. 460 hp and ??? vs. 420 tq. *rumoured.

Few more touches like seat upgrade, exhaust, lowered 2018 will see a GT350 intake and 87mm TB. New electronics package, magnaride etc, I think will make this one pretty nice.

2008 model also got a 3:73 gear not sure about this one. Doesn't matter, add a centri to any S550 and you have serious power.

If they bring back a mach 1, I wonder if it will still have IRS or if they go SRA for that one special model?

Also wondering what kind of half shafts the new GT500 will have and how many meeeeellllllionsssss of dollars it will cost. lol.

No matter how you slice it, mustangs are here to stay. Funny how if you had 500 rwhp you were rockin'.......now you need 700+ to compete at the donut shop.

Saw on of these in Troy, MI yesterday in the Chipotle parking lot, it was black with an M plate, looked pretty sharp, but I still can’t get past the wheels....they did look great though, and the brakes look huge, tires fill the wheelwells nicely. I was eating my burrito when it left, I didn’t hear anything.

The Active Exhaust is pretty cool. I think I'd still delete the resonator but from what I've heard in person, it's worth the $1000 for the option. It sounds very aggressive when in Sport or Track. Even 'Normal' is pretty good. The quiet works very well too and would come in handy for those 6am start ups. As it is now, I remote start my car with the garage closed until it gets a chance to idle down.
