Driving fast cars way too fast lost a pair of drivers their expensive wheels for a week.

Halton Regional Police say a Ferrari and Mercedes were caught drag racing in the area of Winston Churchill Blvd. and Steeles Ave. just after 2 a.m. on Friday.

“A traffic stop was initiated and both drivers were charged with race motor vehicle and speeding,” Const. Jackie Brennan said.

Murtaza (the only name on the man’s licence and the name he will be processed under), 20, of Mississauga, and Muhammad Mehboob, 21, of Oakville, are both facing the two charges.

Officers allegedly clocked the high-end vehicles going 161km/h in a 60 zone.

Both cars, with a combined value of $350,000, have been seized for seven days.

Not uncommon here in Oakville, while my daughter was driving a hand me down 15 year old CRV , friends had access to BMW' s, Mercedes, Audi' s, think she felt we were a bit red neck for the hood LOL.

Just had a 20 year old came to the dealership with a new AMG GT with 3000 k’s on it. Needed brakes and tires - advised no warranty as i saw it tracked at Mosport. He said NP and traded it in on a new one....wtf there is a pre-owed AMG at MB Markham for $215,000 if anyone wants one with 3000 k on it .

What Don's referring to, for those that don't know... I had a black 2012 Mustang GT Vert that I took to TMP. I had never done road course before and I drove the car pretty hard. The brakes were smoking hot when I pulled into the pits. Like, really... I took the video you see below (almost 6 years ago now!)

Anyway, before I went to TMP that day, I was at the local Ford dealership. They had a used Boss on their lot. I tried to deal on it and they didn't like my offer, so I walked away. Then... They called me while I was at the track. He asked if I had changed my mind about the Boss at all. I told him, "No, have you?". He laughed and said he'd call me back. He did and said you have a deal.

I drove my car, TMP number on the windshield and side glass, straight to the dealership from the track that day. I left it with them to swap the wheels (I didn't like the Boss wheels). Picked up the Boss the next day or so.

I went back a couple weeks later. My black vert was on the lot. New front rotors and pads :)

When I posted the thread about the new Boss 302, I titled it "I upgraded my brakes", lol.

I got a video and pics of smoking brakes too! However I did mine on the back roads here "Braking In" the Hawk Pads [emoji1]

I miss those Brakes. They grabbed so hard but the incessant squeaking drove me loco.

Paul did that to my brakes with Hawk pads as well, Ive never had them smoke myself
