Had a discussion today during lunch about sound deadening. I've know of Dynamat, Lizard Skin, and Brown Bread, but was wondering what the TMC's brand of choice was.

Thanks

Not yet, looking at doing some sound deadening eventually. Not sure what the scientific property differences are with the more popular expensive brands tho...show on the Velocity channel suggests the box store brands are just as effective..

To anyone sitting on the fence, it makes a nice car just that much nicer. Exhaust drone n noise on Gary's, rude crude and obnoxious inside, tame by comparison now, pleasant to drive (done pretty much from firewall to rear of the hatch plus tire well and every spot I could think of) My own, (from rear of front seats to rear of trunk including spare tire well) fell short of his but was still significant. One day, when time allows, have enough here to finish passenger compartment and maybe enough for inside doors.

So just thickness then? Cool, maybe the 80 or 150 mil they have for more density...

My current car has been done with brown bread mat. Previously I've used dynamat and another high end stereo deadening mats on other builds. IMHO brown bread works 90-95% as good as dynamat with much less cost (at least when I bought it a few years ago) The only difference I found is dynamat cut a bit easier and didnt have as much edge bleed. It made a large difference in road noise, drone and cabin heat in my car.

I've used fatmat in 3 of my cars works good only 50 mil I believe. Ive done all the doors of my fox and the floors maybe 60%.
