Anyone have any knowledge about radar detectors? I’m ordering a cobra SPX 900 and says undetectable to vg2 and spectre 1. Can anyone confirm this. Want it for longer trips. Also if anyone knows what OPP and other law enforcements use would be great. Want to know if I’m protected.
Thanks in advance.

Always thought radar detectors weren’t legal in Canada?

Keep to the speed limit seems like a sure-fire way of avoiding a ticket.

I use Waze anyway. The road hazard alerts do a pretty decent job of letting you know where the cops are.

Just how fast do you want to go. On almost all the 400 series highways in Ontario, 130 to 135 seems to be the default speed limit. I routinely travel at 135 and never seem to have a problem with police. In fact I am actually one of the slower vehicles.
It may be sexist of me, but I often see (often as in many many) sweet young things passing me at 150 or better, and it's rare to see a motorcyclist on the 407 at much less than 180 or so.

Got nailed for 130 on the QEW last year.. cop was a dick, so I was a bigger dick.
