View Full Version : Hydraulic clutch not fully disengaging on new car

I suspected it right at the beginning but kinda ignored.

I feel the clutch is not fully disengaging on on my 2019 Mustang Ecoboost (650 kilometers so far). The clutch starts engaging right at bottom position. I feel the little grind specially in lower gears.
My driveway has a little aggressive grading and I always reverse park (car facing the street), I notice on my driveway if car is still in reverse gear with clutch pressed all the way, foot off the break and no parking break on , it does not roll forward but it starts rolling when i put it in neutral.

I believe it has a hydraulic clutch and can't be adjusted. I think the system is not bled correctly.

I am going to call the dealership and see what they say about it

Thanks in advance for any advice :helpsign: :ty:

Here is the clutch line that I was telling you about upgrading. Perhaps someone with some experience with the Steeda clutch line can chime in here.

Currently my RS is in for service for this exact issue.
2x last summer the pedal went to the floor and never came back.
I had to manually pull it off the floor and pump it several times before it felt "normal".
I'll pick it up on Tuesday. I'll update the finding then.

Suggest, with engine turned off, cycle clutch pedal to the floor (without forcing or going overly fast) 200 plus cycles and see if it changes anything. If it does not, time to take it in for a look see.
Line upgrade, not a fan.

I checked the link, it says only for 2015-17

200 plus cycles? Damn.
I’d be thinking it’s a bad slave or master, but it’s under warranty, take it back. They should give you a loaner anyways, it’s really not safe to drive

^^^you have to make vroom vroom shifting noises while doing it. It's about the same number of shifts as in the movie Bullitt if you count the double-clutching.

05 up, some take 40 or 50 pumps while others can take couple hundred.

But it’s an ecoboost, you’d need to make whoosh whoosh noises :)

Update on mine.
Ford made my mechanic jump threw various hoops before he was able to get approval for the master cylinder and clutch assembly replacement.
2 weeks and counting.
