this is not what I wanted. Somewhere in this forum there was discussion about a sprayon coating that people used on body emblems, wheels, etc, that you could peel off later. That's what I need.

The homeowner wants some sort of covering on the bolts so that clothing won't get caught on it; although why they are worried about bolts that are 3" above the ground snagging their clothes, I'm not quite sure.

Whenever I've used post saddles (think that's what we're talking about here) I've tossed rubber end caps over the bolts to hide the hardware so it doesn't look rusty immediately.

POR 15 is like a super epoxy coating.
Super stuff & tough as anything
A lot of guys (including me)used it to coat the outside of the old 7.3 diesel oil pans in vehicle when they rusted out & leaked
Way cheaper then pulling the engine & replacing the pan
Applied it at 300000k & Never had a leak even after another 150000k on the truck

As an alternative we utilized steel spikes with sleeves on top that are driven into the ground. The wood post is then secured into the sleeve, which is tightened up by 1/4" bolts. (asan aside, I rarely use spikes but the client insisted)
Unfortunately, the bolts are sticking out a little and the client is afraid that animals and small children might scratch themselves on the bolt heads. Thus we need something to cover the bolts with, which is why I though of Plastidip.

Quicksilver I’m not a contractor, But I’m a business owner and I know what it’s like to try and sell/fix something to someone that can’t afford it, not everyone can cut a blank cheque! I see it all the time sadly. It humbles you to be honest.

Guess you want me to say SORRY too. Although I was simply asking for pic's as I have never seen a fence built with spikes.........but further to some post, I now know what the spikes look like. I was not looking to DIG at the OP.
